CareersThe Dobbs Financial Group consists of hard–working people who really enjoy each other’s company and the culture within. Their ethics and values are very much the same, which has enabled them to be successful. When a new representative starts, The Dobbs Financial Group as a whole wants to help see that person succeed. That’s why The Dobbs Financial Group offers a variety of supportive elements. New representatives are offered a weekly meeting to direct them down the path of success. New representatives are also given the opportunity to meet with the Managing Partner once a week to get answers to their specific questions. Even more so, new reps meet with our recruiting coordinator to ensure they are on track and are doing the activities that produce results. The Dobbs Financial Group wants their new representatives to be successful and will help them in any way possible. The Dobbs Financial Group also encourages professional development by offering financial assistance, especially for the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) certification—three marks of professionalism in our industry. At The Dobbs Financial Group, we feel that a bit of competitiveness is a good thing. We conduct regular contests to challenge and encourage individuals to succeed and offer rewards to those who qualify. Qualifying agents then go to an office outing each year in June to the Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Virginia. The Dobbs Financial Group has recently celebrated our 50th year for conducting this outing. The Dobbs Financial Group also offers rewarding internships to college students who are interested in seeking a career in this business. With our internship opportunity, students are able to get a real–life experience and learn about this business for themselves. We offer our interns a training and development program that will help them decide if becoming a financial representative is right for them. Our interns come from colleges throughout the state of Virginia—colleges such as West Virginia University, Marshall University and the University of Charleston. Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and CFP (with flame logo)®, which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements. |
