James S Dobbs, CLU®, ChFC® Office ProfileJim Dobbs understands the importance of career goals along with the ability to accept change. Jim started his career by working in the collections department of a bank. As time went on, Jim realized his income and opportunity for advancement were limited. He also realized that the only way he was going to climb that ladder of success would be determined by an available opening and not necessarily by his efforts. Jim needed a new plan for his long–term career goals. In 1974, a year after graduating from West Virginia University, Jim joined the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network as a full–time financial representative. Throughout his career, Jim has received many honors and awards. He also is an MDRT Life Member as well as a member of a variety of other organizations. Jim began his management career as a Field Director in 1990, and in 1994 he was appointed Managing Partner and assumed the management responsibilities for the state of West Virginia. Jim’s high level of energy and his successful sales background greatly contribute to the success of The Dobbs Financial Group. Jim has been married for 16 years to his wife, Kim. They have three children together, Lisa, Tori and James, and reside on a 300–acre farm in Jackson County. Some of Jim’s hobbies include hunting and fishing. Jim also is a huge sports enthusiast, mostly supporting the West Virginia Mountaineers. This Network Office has been active since 1887.
